2023 IMCL Conference Practicalities
Our 2023 IMCL conference will take place in Dorchester, UK, and the adjoining community of Poundbury. Dorchester is approximately 2.5 hours by train from London (times may vary), with regular service from Waterloo Station, and connections from Paddington and other stations. There are many beautiful sites nearby, including Stonehenge, Winchester, Bath, the Cotswolds, and the Dorset coast, known as the "Jurassic Coast" for the historic dinosaur finds there.
Our venue for morning plenaries will be Dorchester's beautiful Corn Exchange, a historic building on Dorchester's main or "high street". Poundbury is just to the west along the same street, accessible by bus (12 minutes) or walking (23 minutes). The main train station is a 10-minute walk to the Corn Exchange.
There are many hotel options in the Dorchester and Poundbury area. We recommend hotels in the immediate area of the Corn Exchange, where our plenaries will be held as well as some breakouts, or in Poundbury, where we will have tours, receptions and breakout workshops. Another delightful hotel option is in the coastal and harbor town of Weymouth, just 8 miles south, and with regular train service (10 minutes to Dorchester South). The harbor area has many hotel options available, just footsteps away from the train station.
